Body
The MCAS Student Kiosk is the student testing platform that has replaced TestNav. This document provides instructions on how to install the MCAS Student Kiosk software from the Company Portal. For the Spring 2025 assessment, OITA will push the MCAS Kiosk application to all student devices. This procedure is for installation on individual student devices for training and readiness purposes.
Steps to Install the MCAS Student Kiosk
Step 1: Log into the student device with your log information (not the student's log information) then click on the Start icon located in the lower left of your screen on the taskbar.
Step 2: Type “Company Portal” in the search window and click on the Company Portal App.
Step 3: The Company Portal will open in a new window. Type “MCAS Student Kiosk” into the search window, then click on the MCAS Student Kiosk application, and follow the prompts to install the application to the laptop.
Mandatory Steps Before Using the MCAS Student Kiosk software
Note: This step is a temporary workaround to a software issue that has been reported to DESE.
Step 1: To use the MCAS Student Kiosk, you must close Microsoft OneDrive. To do this, go to the bottom right corner of your taskbar and right-click on the OneDrive icon.
If the icon is not visible, click the carrot icon to display the hidden icons. If the OneDrive is not displayed, OneDrive is not currently running on the device so proceed to Step 3. If the icon is displayed, right-click on the OneDrive icon.
Step 2: Right clicking the OneDrive icon will open a new window. In that window, click Quit OneDrive.
Steps Restart OneDrive
Step 1: Click on the Start icon located in the lower left of your screen on the taskbar.
Step 2: Type “OneDrive” in the search window and click on the OneDrive App. Once selected, OneDrive will launch and process the changes, as well as restore your access to the files saved on OneDrive.
