Elementary Scheduling: Enrolling Elementary students into a Homeroom

Summary

This article describes how to schedule elementary students into Homerooms.

Body

REMINDER:  Do not enroll Kindergarten students into a section with another grade level.  Kinder students have a separate standards based grading system and different marking terms than gr. 1-5. Therefore, Kindergarten students must not be enrolled in sections with students in another grade level.

Locate and Select Your Students
From the PowerSchool Homepage, select an individual student by typing the student id or last name. 

          >Use MultiSelect if you have a list of IDs    Click MultiSelect and type or paste IDs into space                                                 

           

          > Use Select by Hand to select a group of students

- click Grade Level or other group and Select By Hand located below the list that displays

- Uncheck top box to the left of the "Student Selection" header.  This will uncheck all students

- Only check the students on your roster (these are the students you want to enroll)

- Click Update Selection - Only those selected will be in view

 

If scheduling a group of students  Select "Mass Register" from Group Functions box next to Select by hand 

If scheduling a single student, click Courses and Programs and Modify Course Schedule

-Update Effective Date if necessary - the current date will be reflected

- Quick Register - Carefully Copy/Paste or type in Course Number.Section Number and Click Enroll     

OR

- Search Courses by Using Filters - Choose Period "0" from the drop down and/or teacher name and click "Search".  Use filters at top of page to narrow down search

- Select Course Name (Blue Link) to add student to the course.
