Exceptional Learner Summer Programming coding in PowerSchool

This procedure shows the process for teachers to code Exceptional Learners participating in Extended Year summer programming through PowerTeacher.

This procedure shows the process for teachers to code Exceptional Learners participating in Extended Year summer programming through PowerTeacher. 

  • School staff and administrators may complete this process through the SSP page in the PowerSchool Admin portal.  

How to update an existing Intervention to confirm student participation:

1. Click 'Weakness' to reveal the Intervention section

2. Choose 'Extended Year Summer Program' from the Intervention Drop down

3. Choose your own name from the staff drop-down

4. The 'Goals' field is required. You may type N/A in the goals field to submit. 

5. Record whether the parent has confirmed participation by clicking Accepted or Denied.

Click Submit

How to enter a new Intervention for Extended Year Summer Programming: 

On the PowerTeacher homepage, click Student Information for the class of students you would like to work with.  

  • Click the student name from the left-hand list. 

  • From the ‘Select Screens’ dropdown, choose Support Plan (SSP) 

  • Click ‘Support Areas & Interventions’ 

  • Click ‘New’ 

  1. Enter the data in this format: mm/dd/yyyy 

  1. Choose Extended Year Summer Program from the Purpose/Program dropdown 

  1. Choose General Academics from the Areas for Support dropdown 

  1. Choose Summer Learning from the Subcategory dropdown

  2. Click 'Weakness' to reveal the Intervention section

  3.  Follow the directions for the intervention above (steps 2 - 5)

Click Submit
