How to Make a Call with the Cisco Jabber Client

 

Launch the Cisco Jabber Client and Log In

Launch the client via the Cisco Jabber icon on your Windows 10 desktop.

If you have not yet installed Cisco Jabber, please review our Knowledge Base article, How to Install the Cisco Jabber Client on your Windows 10 Device.

Next, you will be required to log into Cisco Jabber using your SPS credentials. 

Click the blue Sign In button to continue.

 

Cisco Jabber Client: Certificate Not Valid Error

After logging in you may receive a Certificate not valid error.

This is normal; click the blue Accept button to continue. 

You will see a green computer icon when the Cisco Jabber client is connected successfully to the network. 

 

Making a Phone Call

Method #1: Searching the User Database to Make a Call

To make a phone call, use the Search field at the top of the Cisco Jabber client to search for specific users within the database. One a user is located, highlight the name. Multiple options will be available: add the user to your phone book, chat with the user, or call the user.

Click the green phone icon to place a call.

Method #2: Make a Call from the Recent Calls List

Select the Phone icon from the menu on the left to locate a user from a recent phone call.

Highlight the user's name / phone number and a green phone icon will appear; click the green phone icon to place the call.

Method #3: Make a Call from the Dial Pad

Click the Dial Pad button to the right of the search box.

The dial pad will open; enter in the number of the user and click the green phone icon at the bottom to place the call.
