This document explains the procedure for adding final (F1) grades to PowerSchool that are considered: 1) Dual Enrollment; or, 2) Online Credit Recovery. This procedure should be used to enter final grades when the dual enrollment course is not already in the student's schedule.
DUAL ENROLLMENT
Step 1: Run and review the Dual Enrollment Verification report available in the SPS Data Warehouse under SPS Reports in Grades and Schedules folder.

The report shows a list of dual enrollment courses previously entered in PowerSchool. If a student or course is missing, review the student’s record in PowerSchool to confirm the course was entered correctly in historical grades using course ID 2611000511 (full credit) or 2611000525 (half credit). This process is for students at specialized high schools with Career Paths/dual enrollment:

New: To confirm or report Early College Promise dual enrollment courses, use course ID 2612000511 (full credit) or 2612000525 (half credit).
Step 2: In PowerSchool, select the student you would like to enter grades for.
Step 3: Navigate to the "historical Course Grades" page from "Academic Records" and click on the "Detail View" button.
Step 4: On the resulting page, click “Single New Entry” on the right side of the student’s historical grades.
- Most dual enrollment courses are not part of the student’s schedule an must be entered.
Step 5: Using one of the two valid course numbers, check the option for unscheduled courses and click “Search”.
New: For students who have taken Early College Promise dual enrollment courses, use course ID 2612000511 (full credit) or 2612000525 (half credit).
Step 6: Click the Course Name to “lock in” your course selection.
Note: A green outline around the course will confirm you are ready to move to step 5.
Step 7: Enter course details.
- Hist. grade level: The grade level the student was in when taking the course
- Store code: All courses must be F1 (transcript final grades)
- Grade: The grade the student earned
- Term ID: The duration of the course (typically Semester1-S1 or Semester 2-S2)
- School Name: This can be either the high school name or the institution name
- Teacher Name: This is either the high school teacher’s name or the college professor’s name
- Course Name: Courses will default to “Dual Enrollment”, this can be changed to a more applicable course title
Step 8: Further down the page, look for the Additional Coursework Details section.
- Institution: Choose the institution where the dual enrollment course was taken.
- Subject-Area Course: Choose the course that most closely matches the course taken (AP Seminar will be mapped for you).
- Course Level: Dual Enrollment courses are mapped to 04 – Postsecondary Credit.
- Course Term: The term will be populated to match the selection made in step 5.
Note: Click submit when completed
Step 9: Rerun and print the Dual Enrollment Verification Report from the SPS Data Warehouse.
ONLINE CREDIT RECOVERY COURSES
Step 1: Use Edgenuity or other school records to identify the students who took online credit recovery courses.
Step 2: In PowerSchool, select the student you would like to enter grades for.
Step 3: Navigate to the "historical Course Grades" page from "Academic Records" and click on the "Detail View" button.
Step 4: On the resulting page click “Single New Entry” on the right side of the student’s historical grades.
Step 5: Using an course number, check the option for unscheduled courses and click “Search”.
Step 6: Click the Course Name to “lock in” your course selection.
Note: A green outline around the course will confirm you are ready to move to step 5.
Step 7: Enter course details.

Note about Additional Advanced Coursework
The procedures outlined in this article are the first step for High Schools to verify coursework that is not part of a student’s schedule and that can contribute to the Advanced Coursework Completion rate for the school’s official state Accountability Report. Once the Advanced Online Coursework and/or Dual Enrollment grades have been entered, schools should print the Advanced and Online Credit Recovery Course Verification Report and/or the Dual Enrollment Verification Report from the SPS Data Warehouse and follow the instructions for submitting the sign off. Both reports can be found in the Grades and Schedules folder.

Reference this with your desired courses Subject Area Code, if the Subject Area Code of your course (see course info page) is listed on this document, then it is considered "Advanced" by DESE's standards.
