How to Transfer Out a Student as Summer Exit

A student is a summer exit when:

  • The student was enrolled at the end of the 2021-2022 school year
  • The student will not or did not attend the 2022-2023 school year

A student can be transferred out when:

  • The school as received notification of where student has moved or the school the student is currently attending
    • Schools should include exit comments that document the circumstances of the transfer
  • Under the circumstances outlined in the Unenrollment and Exclusion Policy

Step 1: Locate the student in PowerSchool
From the PowerSchool Start Page, use the Student Search to locate and select your student.

Step 2:  Transfer Out of School
Click Functions on Left Navigation then click the Transfer Out of School option

Step 3:  Select Options

  • Under Transfer out options, use Summer Exit
  • Exit date will be filled in for you
  • Transfer date will be filled in for you
  • Choose the appropriate exit code
  • The SIMS enrollment status (DOE012) will be filled in for you base on the exit code choice above
  • Enter a transfer comment that briefly describes the circumstances of the transfer
  • Check the acknowledgement for your compliance with the Unenrollment and Exclusion Policy
  • If there are absences that will be removed, check the acknowledgement to remove the attendance

Step 4: Submit 
Click the submit button once the options have been visually confirmed and are correct.
