How To Find Your Device's BitLocker Recovery Key

BitLocker (Microsoft’s drive encryption tool) is automatically enabled on all SPS Windows laptops. When enabled, this prevents anyone from obtaining any information on the device’s storage drive, even when the drive is removed from the device. The only way to access the files on the encrypted drive is to know the 48-digit numerical password (BitLocker recovery key). In some cases, you may be prompted for this key if an update alters a setting in your system. The link above will show you how to look up this key for your assigned SPS device.
