Multi-Factor Authentication (or MFA) creates a two-step log in process which would require the user to enter their credentials and then, using another device such as a phone or tablet, verify that they are attempting to log into a device. This means that even if a user's username and password were compromised, the account would not be able to be logged into/used without the verification on the second device.
