PowerSchool: Transfer Out (Summer Exit and No Show)

Transfer Out: Using Summer Exit or No Show
At the start of the school year, there are typically assigned students who end up not attending school. There are many reasons for this and it is the school's responsibility to follow the process outlined in the Enrollment and Exclusion Policy. But once the follow-up prescribed by the policy is complete, an eligible student must be transferred out of PowerSchool.

NOTE: These steps are to be followed only when the assigned student has not attended school in the current academic year and also meets the criteria outlined in the Enrollment and Exclusion Policy.

1. Open the student's record in PowerSchool
2. From the left-hand navigation, select Functions -> Transfer Out of School

Summer Exit:
If a student was enrolled at the end of the prior school year, the summer exit option should be used. Because Springfield Public Schools was the district of last enrollment, we must indicate what the exit reason should be for the student.

NOTE: If the prior school of enrollment was a school different than the school currently assigned, the district will ensure that the correct school attribution will be reported when this step is followed.

3a. Click the Summer Exit option

  • Each of the options in green must be checked or filled in.
  • All of the student's absences will be removed with this action.

No Show:
If a student was not enrolled at the end of the prior school year, the No Show option should be used. Because the student was not with Springfield Public Schools last year and is not enrolled with the district this year, the student will not be reported.

NOTE: The district will ensure that the student is not reported when this step is followed.

3b. Click the No Show option

  • Each of the options in green must be checked or filled in.
  • All of the student's absences will be removed with this action.
