How to Re-enroll a student from Archive

Re-enroll a Student from Archive

This article explains the procedure to activate an archived student without losing the historical enrollment data. When a student has left the district and returned later, we must keep the archived enrollment history and add a new enrollment line. Use this procedure instead of updating the existing historical line.

From the Start Page in PowerSchool: Ensure you are in _Archive at the top right of the page.

Locate the student > Navigate to the Transfer Info page

From Archive, transfer to Student Assignment Services (SAS)

  • Functions > transfer to another school > SAS > submit > The Confirmation page should say the student is now inactive at SAS.

Switch Schools from _Archive to Student Assignment Services at the top right of the page.

  • Re-enroll student in school: Functions > re-enroll in school

Set entry dates for the current year

  • Enter entry comment

  • Set current FTE

  • Adjust grade level

  • Other updates: district of residence, etc.

  • This will add a new enrollment record. Go back to the transfer info page to verify the correct number of enrollment lines.

Transfer out of School: School enrollment > transfer out of school

  • Set “01” exit code

Transfer to assigned school

To check success: find the student in the school’s Find Assigned

  • From the school’s homepage > Stored Searches > Find assigned

  • Click the student. The student should be transferred out

The school can then bring the student in from Find Assigned. Once the student is brought in, the re-enrollment line will appear on the Transfer Info page.
