How to Access Microsoft OneDrive within Office 365
Introduction
OneDrive is a free cloud storage service that is associated with your SPS work account through Microsoft. You’ll be able to save your files to OneDrive and access them from any Internet-connected PC, tablet, or smart phone.
BE AWARE
The OneDrive client within Windows 10 and OneDrive within Office 365 work in conjunction. Saving a file to OneDrive within Windows 10 will sync to OneDrive within Office 365!
BE AWARE
When accessing OneDrive within Office 365, only use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome!
Accessing & Logging into Office 365
There are two ways to access Office 365:
Method #1
On your staff computer, double-click the Office 365 icon on your desktop.
A window will open within your default browser, and you’ll be asked to sign in.
Enter in your SPS credentials and click the Sign in button to continue.
Method #2
Open a browser window and in the address bar, enter: https://www.office.com.
In the upper right-hand corner of the browser window, click on the Sign In link.
You will be brought to a Springfield Public Schools log in screen in which you’ll enter in your SPS credentials.
Click the Sign in button to continue.
The Office 365 Landing Page
After you sign in, you’ll be brought to the Office 365 landing page where you’ll see various online apps listed, including OneDrive.
All online apps listed here are available for you to use.
Your work within these Office 365 online apps will be automatically saved to your OneDrive.
Opening OneDrive within Office 365
Within the Office 365 available apps list, click the OneDrive option; OneDrive will open.
If you saved files to your OneDrive – Springfield Public Schools folder on your staff laptop, they will be accessible here!
Drag & Drop Files into OneDrive within Office 365
Files already saved on your staff laptop can be easily moved to your OneDrive within Office 365 by simply using the drag and drop method as shown (see screenshot).
You CANNOT drag files FROM OneDrive within Office 365 to your staff laptop.
Files can be downloaded from OneDrive within Office 365 by right clicking the file name and selecting Download from the popup menu.
The downloaded file will be saved to your Downloads folder within your library on your staff laptop.

Sync Files in OneDrive within Office 365
Saving a file to OneDrive within Office 365 will sync to OneDrive within Windows 10 as long as you’re connected to the Internet.
If no Internet connection is available, the next time your computer connects to the Internet, OneDrive will automatically sync.
