Cisco VoIP Phones: Cisco 8845 Single Number Reach Setup

Cisco 8845 Single Number Reach Setup

Single Number Reach Setup

Single Number Reach (Mobility) allows you to configure up to 4 additional phones to ring when your desk phone rings.

An additional feature called Move to Mobile allows you to transfer a call from your desk phone to your mobile device without dropping the call.

It also allows a call that was initially redirected from the desk phone to a mobile device to be transferred back to the desk phone.

The additional phones are configured using the MyPhone Self Care Portal.

MyPhone Self Care Portal

The Self Care portal can be access by the following URL: https://myphone.springfieldpublicschools.com/ucmuser/

Login with your domain username and password.

The initial screen brings you to: My Phones; click the + icon under Additional Phones.

Add a New Additional Phone

Enter the phone number which will receive the calls, typically your mobile device.

Use the prefix digit 8, just as you would dialing from your desk phone.

Check the box to Enable Signal Number Reach; this activates the feature. Unchecking this box deactivates the feature.

Check the box to Enable Move to Mobile. This feature requires the Mobility button to be added to the desk phone.

This will allow calls to be transferred between the desk phone and mobile phone.

Click the Save button.

You can Edit or Delete the entry as needed.

You can create a total of 4 additional phones.

Add a New Schedule

If desired, you can configure a schedule.

Click the icon next to Create a schedule for this assignment.

Provide a Name for the schedule.

Select Ring only during specific times; select the days and times to activate Single Number Reach for this device.

Be sure to select the correct Time Zone.

Click the Save button to continue.

Advanced Settings

In some instances, you may need to adjust the timing of this feature.

You can set the delay before the remote phone starts ringing.

You can adjust how calls going straight to voicemail are handled.

You can adjust how long the remote phone will ring for.

You want to make sure the phone does not ring so long that the remote device will go to voicemail (unless this is desired).

Click the Save button.

Using Single Number Reach Mobility

Single Number Reach can be enabled and disabled by pressing the Mobility button on the desk phone, as well as through the Self Care Portal.

If the Move to Mobile feature is enabled, this button also serves to transfer an active call to the mobile device.

If the call is already on the mobile device, this button will transfer the call back to the desk phone.

Note: This does not work if the initial call was direct to the mobile device.

The original call must have been to the desk phone and redirected to the mobile device.

One caveat is that if you are on a video call on your desk phone, you may not see the Mobility text on the screen, but the button is still functional.

Jabber users can enable and disable Single Number Reach by clicking the Phone Controls icon and selecting Single Number Reach.
