Parent Portal Account Distribution Instructions

This article outlines the steps schools can take to authorize a parent to use the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Authorization Letter

Once a school has confirmed the identity of the legal parent or guardian, run the Parent Portal Authorization letter.

  • From the PowerSchool Start Page, search for the student
  • On the left-hand navigation, click Print A Report
  • Choose Parent Portal - Authorization from the list of reports
    • A Spanish version of the report is also available in the list
  • Click Submit to run the report

  • PowerSchool will redirect to the Report Queue page
  • Click View next to the Parent Portal - Authorization report

 

PowerSchool Report Queue

  • The Authorization Letter will be displayed on-screen
  • At this point, the letter can be printed or saved as a PDF to be emailed to the Parent/Guardian
  • Parents or Guardians should be directed to the Springfield Public Schools website for the instructions and videos on how to complete their account setup
    • www.springfieldpublicschools.com >> Parents >> Parent Portal
    • To complete the setup, Parents or Guardians will need the Access ID and Access Password from the Authorization letter
