How to Create a Folder in a Schoology Course

Folders allow you to better organize your materials on your Schoology course page. Some teachers use folders to organize their materials by week, while others use them to organize their materials by unit. To make a folder, start in the materials tab of your Schoology Course:

1. Click  

2. Choose Add Folder from the options you will then be taken to this page:

3. Give the folder a name (Note: the name will be visible to students and parents) 

4. Optional: Change the color of the folder 

5. Optional: Write a brief description of what is folder will contain 

6. Optional: Under availability choose  

  • Unpublish: so that students are unable to see folder 
  • Publish on start date: students will only see this folder starting on the date chosen
  • Publish during date range: folder will only be seen by students during a specific range of dates 

7. Click Create
