How to Bulk Edit – Grouping Student Work by Marking Period

The bulk edit feature allows teachers to place graded assignments, tests, quizzes, and discussions into a particular marking period such as Quarter 1, Quarter 2, Semester 1, and Year-Long.    

Follow the steps below to locate the bulk edit feature and move graded student work to the desired marking period category.

  1. Click on a course
  2. Click on Gradebook
  3. Once in the gradebook, click the three vertical dots icon in the top right corner
  4. Select Bulk Edit from the drop-down menu





How to Use the Bulk Edit Feature to Change Information

Once you have selected the bulk edit feature, the following information will be displayed:

1. The name of the item.

2. A checkbox to publish or unpublish the item.

3. The grading category with which the item is associated.

4. The Max pts value of the item.

5. The Factor of the item.

6. The grading scale or rubric with which the item is associated.

7. The due date of the item.

8. The grading period with which the item is associated.

Note: If the sections of the course are linked together, hover over the due date for each course section. Use your cursor to hover over the book icon next to the due date to confirm the course section name. A green circle indicates the item is published in that course section. The gray circle indicates the item is unpublished in that course section.

To change the marking period of an assignment/test/ discussion:

  1. Use the drop down that is associated with the assignment/test/discussion
  2. Select the desired marking period that you want the work to be associated
  3. Use steps 1 & 2 for all the assignments/test/discussions that need to be moved
  4. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page once all changed are made
